Two finalists chosen by the jury and the public will be supplemented with 4 wildcards (the winner of Getxo Jazz Festival 2016 (Spain), a band via Saint Louis College of Music (Rome, Italy), a band via Amersfoort Jazz Festival (Netherlands) and the winner of Jong Jazztalent Gent (Belgium)). These are the six finalists of B-Jazz 2017 and they will be judged by a professional, international jury.
This jury selects the winner of B-Jazz as well as the ‘Best Bassplayer’. The jury also hands out the ‘SABAM Culture Prize’ to the finalist that performs the best interpretation of the obligatory composition.
